AdornTrade ships wholesale jewellery orders worldwide from our production and consolidation base. This page explains how long an order takes, how shipping is priced, and what happens at the destination border. If anything here does not answer your question, contact sales@adorntrade.com before placing the order rather than after.
Order timeline
Orders are prepared and dispatched within 3-7 business days. Transit then takes a further 7-15 business days, depending on destination and service.
Handling covers quality checking, polishing, individual poly-bagging, and cartonising. Orders containing items that are out of stock at the time of payment are held until the full order can ship together, unless you ask us to split the shipment. Split shipments are quoted separately because each carton is priced on its own.
Business days exclude weekends and public holidays at the point of dispatch. Chinese New Year and the October national holiday both suspend production for an extended period; we announce the affected date ranges on the site in advance.
How shipping is priced
Shipping is charged separately from the goods: the product prices in the catalogue and in your cart never include carriage. The shipping cost for your order is quoted at checkout and paid together with the order.
Carriers do not bill on the net weight of the jewellery. They bill on chargeable weight, which is the greater of two numbers:
- Actual weight — the goods plus the carton, filler, and packing materials.
- Volumetric weight — the carton's outer dimensions divided by the carrier's volumetric divisor.
Jewellery is dense but it is packed with protective material, so on air services the volumetric figure frequently exceeds the actual figure. A carton of boxed necklaces can be billed at roughly twice what the scale reads. Where an order needs more than one carton, each carton is assessed separately and the results are added — this is why the cost per kilo falls as order size grows, but not smoothly.
The calculator below returns live quotes for your destination. It is an estimate: it works from a weight you enter rather than from a real cart, so it cannot see how your specific mix of items will pack. The figure shown at checkout, which is calculated from the actual items in your order, is the one we invoice.
Carriers and service levels
We quote across several carriers and show you the options side by side. Which carriers appear depends on the destination, the chargeable weight, and the declared value. Faster services cost more; the cheapest option is rarely the fastest. We do not mark one carrier as recommended — pick the trade-off that suits the order.
Every shipment is dispatched with tracking. Tracking numbers are attached to your order record and emailed when the carrier scans the parcel.
Duties, taxes, and customs
Product prices never include shipping — carriage is quoted separately and paid with the order. What that shipping price covers at the destination border depends on the service you select:
- Duty-included services — the default for small parcels. Most small-parcel services we quote are duty-included: the shipping price covers carriage and the destination import charges for the goods, so you should not be billed again at delivery. If a carrier nevertheless asks you to pay import charges on a duty-included shipment, do not pay it — send sales@adorntrade.com the order number and a photo of the demand and we will resolve it with the carrier.
- Duty-unpaid services — always labelled as such. Where a service does not include duties, the shipping option states this explicitly when you select it. On those services import duty, VAT, GST, sales tax, customs brokerage, and any handling fee charged by the destination carrier are collected from you as the importer and are not part of our quote.
On a duty-unpaid service you are the importer of record and are responsible for the customs classification and any licences your jurisdiction requires. On every service we declare goods accurately. We will not under-declare value or misdescribe contents, and we cannot accept orders conditional on doing so — a false declaration exposes you, not only us, to seizure and penalties.
If a shipment is held at customs we will supply commercial invoices, packing lists, and material composition statements on request. Parcels abandoned at customs and returned to us are refunded net of outbound carriage, return carriage, and any carrier charges incurred.
Addresses and delivery
Enter a street address that accepts commercial deliveries during business hours. Most carriers will not deliver to PO boxes and several will not deliver jewellery to residential addresses without a signature. An address correction after dispatch incurs the carrier's fee, which we pass through at cost.
Check the quantity and condition of cartons before signing. If a carton arrives visibly damaged or with the seal broken, note it on the carrier's paperwork before signing and photograph it before opening. A clean signature on a damaged carton makes a carrier claim very difficult to win, and it is the carrier — not AdornTrade — who pays for transit damage.
Where we ship
We ship to most destinations worldwide. A small number of territories are excluded because of sanctions or because our carriers have suspended service to them; those destinations do not appear in the calculator or at checkout. If your destination is missing and you believe that is an error, contact sales@adorntrade.com.
Problems in transit
Contact sales@adorntrade.com with your order number as soon as tracking stops updating for more than a few working days, or if the delivered quantity does not match the packing list. Carrier claim windows are short and start from the scan date, not from when you noticed — telling us early is what makes a claim recoverable.
