Moissanite Rings in 925 Silver: Ring Sizes and Carat Options for Wholesale Buyers
By Alex, Founder, AdornTrade 2026-09-04 8 min read

A moissanite ring is the only product in a wholesale jewelry catalogue that is sold three ways at once: by size, by stone and by setting. A supplier can quote you a price that is true for one of those and misleading for the other two. This guide sets out how sterling silver moissanite rings are actually priced and sized, using the real numbers from the 46 ring listings on our shelf as of 4 September 2026, all set in 925 sterling silver and all supplied by a single partner factory.
The short answer, for buyers who want it first: prices run from $9.57 to $71.04 per ring, the median is $24.28, no ring on the shelf changes price by size, and the only thing that moves the price inside a listing is whether you pick the moissanite stone or the cheaper high-carbon stone.
What sterling silver moissanite rings cost
Taking the cheapest variant of each listing, the 46 rings fall into four bands.
| Single-piece price band (4 September 2026) | Listings | What sits there |
|---|---|---|
| Under $15 | 12 | Chain rings, slim pavé bands, small round pavé rings |
| $15 to $20 | 14 | Solitaires, emerald-cut prong settings, three-stone flush sets |
| $20 to $30 | 18 | Halo heads, six-prong crowns, eternity rows, princess pavé |
| Over $30 | 2 | One triple-row pavé ring at $30.19 and one architectural round prong ring at $55.90 |
Counted per variant instead of per listing, across all 563 ring variants on 4 September 2026, the median was $19.95. That is because the listings with the deepest size runs sat slightly above the shelf median.
The comparison that puts these numbers in context is the plain silver shelf. The median plain 925 sterling silver ring without a set stone was $8.76 across 45 listings on 4 September 2026, so moissanite and sterling silver rings cost, at the median, 2.25 times as much. Against a stainless steel ring at $3.52 it is 5.6 times. The extra is the stone and the setting labour, not the silver, which is why a ring at $12.57 and a ring at $28.28 can have the same base-metal record.
The size run: what 457 size values actually cover
Every one of the 46 listings carries a Size option, 457 size values in total, which is why rings average 12.2 variants against 2.4 for earrings. 42 of the 46 listings have 3 or more variants. The sizes are the factory's numbered sizes as recorded on the source listing; ask us for the conversion before ordering a run if your customers buy by a different standard.
| Numbered size band | Listings offering it |
|---|---|
| Sizes 9 to 20, each individual size | 32 to 38 of 46 |
| Sizes 5 to 8 | 9 |
| Sizes 21 to 25 | 4 |
| Adjustable or open-back option | 8 |
In practice there are three kinds of ring listing on the shelf. 26 listings carry the complete 12-size run from 9 to 20; where the listing also offers two or three stone options, that multiplies to 24 or 36 variants, which is how the deepest listing, a radiant-cut halo pavé band, reaches 36. 7 listings carry a 5-size run from 5 to 9, typically the small chain rings and stacking bands. 4 listings are single-size adjustable rings. The remaining 9 carry partial runs.
Every one of them priced all sizes the same. Across all 46 listings on 4 September 2026, a size 9 and a size 20 of the same stone are the same price. That is unusual enough among suppliers to be worth stating plainly, and it removes one of the three ways a moissanite ring quote can mislead.
Two stones on one ring: why the variant name matters
On 4 September 2026, ten rings on our shelf were sold with both a moissanite variant and a cheaper high-carbon or CZ variant; those cheaper variants have since been withdrawn from the moissanite shelf.
| Ring (4 September 2026) | High-carbon or CZ variant | Moissanite variant | Moissanite premium |
|---|---|---|---|
| Round six-prong pavé | $12.57 | $13.52 | 8% |
| Round pavé, sizes 5 to 9 | $12.33 | $13.29 | 8% |
| Round halo pavé | $23.05 | $25.43 | 10% |
| Round solitaire, sizes 5 to 9 | $15.19 | $18.05 | 19% |
| Radiant-cut halo pavé band | $17.33 | $22.09 | 27% |
| Round prong marquise | $15.43 | $20.19 | 31% |
| Emerald-cut prong-set | $15.19 | $19.95 | 31% |
| Emerald-cut pavé (CZ variant) | $14.95 | $19.71 | 32% |
| Adjustable chain ring | $7.33 | $9.71 | 32% |
| Emerald-cut halo | $17.33 | $30.67 | 77% |
The median premium in the table was 29%, and the spread from 8% to 77% was itself informative. On the two rings at 8%, almost the whole price was silver and pavé labour; the centre stone was a small part of the cost. On the emerald-cut halo at 77%, the stone was most of the price. Neither was wrong, but a buyer who ordered the $17.33 variant of that halo and described it as moissanite made a $13.34 mistake per ring that the supplier did not make for them.
Moissanite is silicon carbide. Cubic zirconia is zirconium dioxide; the stone factories list under the trade name high-carbon stone is sold as a lower-priced simulant and is not moissanite. They are different compounds, and the variant name on the listing is the record of which one was shipped. Read it before the price.
Cuts, settings and styles on the shelf
Round dominates, as it does across the whole moissanite family, where 169 of the 187 listings with a cut record show a round or round-brilliant stone. On rings specifically, 24 of the 46 titles name a round stone, 13 a radiant cut, 3 an emerald cut, 2 princess, 2 oval, 2 pear, 1 marquise and 1 heart. The factory's own option labels pair a 1 carat stone with a 6.5 mm round, so a buyer searching for a moissanite 1 ct ring should read 6.5 mm on the listing as the same thing; carat is stated only where the source record gives it, on 46 listings.
Settings are almost entirely prong work: four-prong and six-prong baskets, crown settings and raised solitaire baskets, with pavé on 15 listings, a halo head on 5, an eternity or full-band row on 4 and a plain solitaire on 2. Ten listings record a plating over the silver: platinum-plated on 3, gold-plated on 1 and silver-plated on 6, each named as plating rather than as the metal.
A worked order at the 8-unit step
Quantity prices at 3 and 8 units apply only where a listing displays them, and the quantity is counted per listing: every size and stone option of the same listing in your cart pools towards the 3-unit and 8-unit steps, while different listings do not pool with each other. So 8 rings of one size and a 12-size run at 1 each both earn the 8-unit price on every ring. Across the 941 ring variants the 3-unit price is 95% of the single price and the 8-unit price is 92%, the same rule as the rest of the catalogue.
| Order | Single | Unit paid | Qty | Total |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Median ring, 8 of one size | $24.28 | $22.34 | 8 | $178.72 |
| Median ring, full 12-size run at 1 each | $24.28 | $22.34 | 12 | $268.08 |
| Median ring, 3 sizes at 1 each | $24.28 | $23.07 | 3 | $69.21 |
| Cheapest moissanite ring, 8 pieces | $9.57 | $8.80 | 8 | $70.40 |
| Dearest ring, 8 of one size | $71.04 | $65.36 | 8 | $522.88 |
The practical consequence: a first order of moissanite rings should be a size test, not a size run. The full 12-size run at $268.08 earns the 8-unit price, but it still buys 8 sizes you may never sell. Three sizes at 1 each cost $69.21, earn the 3-unit price, and tell you which sizes your customers take; move to 8 of those sizes once one sells. Shipping is quoted separately at checkout against the destination and is not included in the totals above; the order quantity page sets out the steps in full and the samples page covers single-piece orders.
What to ask before ordering a size run
- Which stone is in the variant I am ordering? The variant name states it.
- Which size standard is the number? Ours are the factory's numbered sizes; get the conversion in writing before you buy 8 of a size.
- Does the price change by size? Here every size was the same price on all 46 listings checked on 4 September 2026. Elsewhere, ask.
- What does the 925 label rest on? Ours is the supplier's source record for each item; the 925 verification guide covers what a buyer can check on arrival.
- Is the quantity price per variant, per listing or per order? Here it is per listing: the sizes and stone options of one listing pool, separate listings do not.
The shelf itself is at moissanite rings, with the wider family at moissanite. For a silver moissanite ring order specifically, the checks above are the whole job: stone, size standard, and whether your 8 units sit on one listing, where they pool, or across several, where they do not.
