Moissanite Jewelry in 925 Silver: Price per Piece and How to Check the Stone

Moissanite is the one material family where a wholesale buyer can be sold the wrong product without anyone lying. The same listing, from the same factory, often carries two stones at two prices, and the cheaper one is not moissanite. A supplier who does not separate them on the listing is not necessarily dishonest; they may simply be reselling a spreadsheet. But the buyer inherits the problem either way, because it is the buyer who then describes the piece to a retail customer.

This guide sets out what a wholesale moissanite jewelry catalogue should show you before you order, using the real numbers from ours: 256 published moissanite listings and 1,126 variants as of 4 September 2026, every one set in 925 sterling silver, supplied by 3 partner factories.

What wholesale moissanite jewelry costs per piece

Moissanite is the highest-priced family on the platform, and the reason is simple: a set stone sits on top of a silver setting, so you pay for the metal, the stone and the setting labour. Here is the full spread, taking the cheapest variant of every listing.

Product typeListingsLowestMedianHighest
Earrings116$6.23$18.91$51.51
Necklaces124$9.06$25.16$204.06
Rings115$9.57$24.28$71.04
Bracelets22$11.60$31.11$197.83
All moissanite386$6.23$23.89$204.06

Two things about that table are easy to misread.

The medians shift when you count every variant. When this guide was first written, counted per variant rather than per listing, the ring median moved from $19.71 to $19.95 across 563 ring variants, the necklace median from $19.71 to $20.19 across 228, and the bracelet median from $19.00 to $29.83 across 42, because one tennis bracelet alone carried 16 variants from $57.34 to $136.14. Earrings moved the other way, from $15.19 to $14.24 across 291 variants, because the multi-variant earring listings were the cheap studs with a stone-size option.

Why every piece is set in 925 silver, and what that label rests on

All 386 moissanite listings on the platform carry the same base-metal record: 925 sterling silver. Where a plating is recorded, on 59 listings, it is a silver, platinum or gold finish over the silver setting, and it is named as plating. Sterling silver is an alloy of 92.5% silver by weight with 7.5% other metal, usually copper, and the 925 mark refers to that fineness.

What that label rests on matters more than the label itself. The 925 record comes from the supplier's own source listing for each item, checked for wording before publication. The 925 sterling silver verification guide explains what a source record establishes and what a buyer can check on arrival. The same rule applies to a 925 silver moissanite ring as to a plain silver one: the stone changes the price, not the standard of evidence for the metal.

The supply base is narrow by design. The 386 listings come from 18 partner factories, against 164 source factories behind the 939 plain silver listings and 49 behind the 314 stainless steel listings. Rings come from 15 of them, earrings from 10, necklaces from 4 and bracelets from 4. All 256 were published between 25 August and 2 September 2026, and each carries 6.6 images on average, from 2 to 29.

The stone check: moissanite, high-carbon stone and cubic zirconia on the same listing

This is the section that should decide which moissanite supplier you buy from.

Moissanite is silicon carbide, SiC. Cubic zirconia is zirconium dioxide, ZrO2. They are different compounds with different optical behaviour and different hardness; the reference figures on Wikipedia put moissanite at 9.5 on the Mohs scale and cubic zirconia at 8 to 8.5.

Product typeListings with a non-moissanite variantShareMoissanite premium at the medianRange across listings
Rings15 of 4632.6%29%8% to 77%
Earrings63 of 12351.2%14%7% to 98%
Necklaces34 of 6850.0%15%5% to 132%
Bracelets10 of 1855.6%19%15% to 34%

The premium is the useful number. A moissanite variant that costs 5% more than its high-carbon twin on a necklace, or 8% more on a ring, tells you that most of the price is in the silver and the setting, not the stone. That is fine, as long as you know which one you ordered. So the check is mechanical: on every listing, read the variant name before the price. Ours name the stone in the variant, and a listing that offers both stones says so in its attributes. A supplier whose listing shows one price, one photo and the word moissanite in the title, with no stone named at variant level, has not told you which stone you will receive.

The reason this matters downstream is regulatory as much as commercial. The United States Federal Trade Commission's Jewelry Guides set out how the word diamond may and may not be used for simulated and laboratory-created stones. A retailer who describes a piece to a consumer is the one making that representation, and the supplier's variant label is the only record they have of what was actually shipped.

What a moissanite supplier's catalogue should show you

Setting aside the claims nobody can support from a listing, several things are checkable before you order:

  • The stone named at variant level. Not in the title, in the variant.
  • A cut record. Where a cut is recorded here, 169 of 187 listings show a round or round-brilliant stone; emerald, radiant, princess, oval, pear, marquise and heart cuts appear on 26. A catalogue with no cut data cannot tell you what you are photographing for your own store.
  • A size run on rings. All 46 of our ring listings carry a size option, 457 size values in total, and 26 carry a full 12-size run. A ring listing with a single size is a sample, not a wholesale line.
  • Quantity prices on the listing itself. Quantity prices at 3 and 8 units apply only where a listing displays them. A site-wide discount claim with no per-listing price is marketing.

Quantity steps and a worked first order

Across all 1,700 moissanite variants that display quantity prices, the 3-unit price is 95% of the single price and the 8-unit price is 92%. The step is a published rule rather than a negotiation. The step from 1 to 3 saves 5%; the step from 3 to 8 is worth 8% against the single price.

Median moissanite bracelet$31.11$28.628$228.96
Total32$703.28

Thirty-two finished pieces across four product types for $703.28 in goods, shipping quoted separately at checkout. That is several times the $146.08 of the 32-piece first order worked through in the stainless steel guide, which is the honest price of a stone-set silver assortment. If the number is too high for a first test, every listing carries a single-piece price, and the samples page covers ordering one piece per style before committing to eights. The order quantity page sets out the steps in full.

Where moissanite sits against the other four families

The median finished piece tells the story quickly. For rings: copper $1.34, stainless steel $3.00, natural stone and pearl $4.25, plain 925 silver $11.11, moissanite $24.28. For earrings: copper $1.36, steel $3.77, pearl $5.31, silver $8.25, moissanite $18.91. For necklaces: $1.77, $5.08, $4.19, $13.99 and $25.16. For bracelets: $2.46, $4.82, $3.44, $13.37 and $31.11.

That position is why moissanite is usually a second shelf, not a first one. It is the family with the highest ticket, the narrowest supply base and the most ways to describe a piece wrongly. It is also the family where buyers referred from AI assistants land most often on our own traffic: one of them spent 21 minutes and 43 pages on the moissanite shelf before opening the wholesale terms. Both facts point the same way: start with one piece per style, read the variant names, and move to eights on the styles that sell.

You can browse the shelves referenced here: moissanite, moissanite rings, moissanite earrings, moissanite necklaces, moissanite bracelets, and for the plain-metal comparison, 925 sterling silver.

The short version

Buying moissanite jewelry wholesale well comes down to three habits. Read the variant name before the price. Treat the 925 label as a source record rather than an assay, and check it the same way you would on plain silver. Take the 8-unit step on styles you have tested, where the unit price is lowest: 8% below the single price, against 5% at 3 units.

None of that requires trusting us. All of it can be checked against any moissanite supplier's own catalogue, including this one.
